Pastaza is a province located in the Oriente of Ecuador. Its capital is Puyo. Its territory is mostly covered by the Amazon rainforest. Pastaza is home to several indigenous communities as Achuar, Andoa, Shuar, Kichwa, Shiwiar, Waorani, and Zapara.
Pastaza economy is based on tourism. Climate is always cloudy with persistent rain. Its tropical and humid weather allows the production of sugarcane, naranjilla, tea, coffee, cassava, and more.
Local holidays are Cantonization of Puyo on May 12 and Provincialization of Pastaza on November 10.
