Zamora Chinchipe is an Ecuadorian province. Its capital is Zamora. This province is located at the southeastern end of the Amazon Basin, about 63kms from Loja, or 270kms from Cuenca. Tourists visit Zamora Chinchipe to explore its many waterfalls, but mainly to get in touch with the ecosystem offered by the Podocarpus National Park. In addition, Zamora is a great place for bird-watching.
Climate is tropical; days are warm and mostly cloudy, with rainfall all year-round. Warm-weather activities are best from late May to late September.
Local holidays are Cantonization of Zamora on October 6 and Provincialization of Zamora Chinchipe on November 10.
