Cuenca is a beautiful historic city, capital of the Azuay province, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, because of its Spanish colonial architecture and historical buildings. Its full name is "Santa Ana de Los Cuatro Ríos de Cuenca". This city is famous for its stunning architecture, tourist attractions, hotels, cafes, galleries, and night activities. As well as for its Tomebamba River waterfront. It is not a surprise that this city is a top choice for expats and retirees to move in. About the altitude, Cuenca has an elevation of 8,400 feet (2,560 meters) above sea level.
The city is the center of many craft traditions such as ceramics, metalwork, Panama hats, and more.
