Guayaquil

Guayaquil is Ecuador's largest and most populous city. Also major port, and leading commercial center. Guayaquil is a place where international companies come to do business. Guayaquil is the capital of the Guayas province. Its full name is "Santiago de Guayaquil". About the altitude, Guayaquil has an elevation of 13.2 feet (4 meters) above sea level. One of the reason tourist visit this beautiful city is to get on a flight or cruise to the Galapagos Islands. This city is famous for its nightlife, it has a variety of cafés and restaurants, both modern and traditional. As well as many discos and karaoke bars. The Santa Ana Port and the Pink zone — Zona Rosa in Spanish — are great places for entertainment and nightlife.

Main attractions include waterfront boardwalk esplanades such as the Malecón 2000 and Malecón del Salado. Other attractions are Las Peñas neighborhood, Centenario Park, and the Historical Park. Guayaquil has some historical landmarks such as the José Joaquín Olmedo monument, the Rotonda Monument, and the Moorish clock tower.

The climate is hot and humid all through the year. The average temperature stays around 69°F to 90°F (21°C to 32°C). The rainy season runs from December to April, weather is sunny, hot, and humid 88°F (31°C). The dry season runs from May to November, weather is cloudier and cooler  80°F (27°C). Even during winters, the weather does not vary hugely. The best time of year to visit Guayaquil for hot-weather activities is from late May to mid-October.
