Jungle towns and rainforests are found in the Amazon Basil. Nearest jungle towns to Guayaquil can be found traveling either to the north-east or to the south-east. To the south-east, in Zamora Chinchipe you can visit Yacuri National Park and the Podocarpus National Park, on the way, there is Cuenca, a nice colonial city, worth the visit.
To the north-east, there are the towns of Macas and Puyo. From Puyo, you can take an excursion to the Napo river or visit the Orchid and Botanical Garden. Before reaching Puyo there is the town of "Banos de Agua Santa" or just "Banos", where you can get into the adventure to follow the "route of the waterfalls" — "Ruta de las Cascadas" in Spanish.
