Montañita is a coastal town located in Santa Elena. It is considered one of the best beaches in Ecuador. This town has a bohemian touch. Montañita is usually crowded, with fun all around. It has lots of handcrafting shops, small rustic bars, restaurants with delicious food, and street vendors walking on the beach.

Montañita is famous for its nightlife and for surfing. Its waves grow up to 6 meters in height. Many tourists stay in Olon, a quiet and less expensive neighboring town, and at night they go to Montañita for its party life, especially in high season, from December to March. Montañita receives many local and international visitors.
