Punta Carnero is a beach on an island located in the province of Santa Elena, 10 minutes by car from Salinas, Ecuador. It is one of the best places to see the sunset in all of Ecuador. In fact, the perfect place to sit and just watch the sun go down. Punta Carnero, which means "point of ram" in English, comes from a rocky headland located at the southeast end of the beach.
Punta Carnero welcomes many tourists looking for recreational activities, such as swimming and surfing. The high season runs from December to May. Another popular activity is whale watching in September and October. This popular beach has hotels and restaurants along the beach.
