Guano is a nice town surrounded by picturesque landscapes. Located near Riobamba, in the Chimborazo province, Ecuador. From Riobamba, it is a 20 minutes ride. Guano's main attractions are the Chimborazo and "El Altar" volcanoes. In addition, the hill of Luishi, near the museum, has a large staircase with several stone carvings. At the top, there is a panoramic view of the city and its surrounding mountains.
Guano is famous for its handmade leather products such as shoes, boots, belts, hats, wallets, and purses. Guano has a small museum that showcases some pre-Columbian pottery, textiles, and the mummy of a monk found entombed in the wall of an old church. On the other hand, some traditional food includes roasted pork, roasted guinea pig (cuy), potato and cheese soup, quinoa soup, cholas, and more. Don't forget to try a chola — a popular snack similar to a soft bread stuffed with delicious brown sugar.

Hottest months are from October to December. It rains mostly from October to April (rainiest month).
