TelefériQo

TelefériQo is a gondola ride to a panoramic viewpoint. This aerial cable car is considered one of the main attractions of Quito, Ecuador. The walls of the cars are transparent, which will allow you to get beautiful photos along the way. The starting point for this ride is about 2,950 meters, the TelefériQo will take you up to 4,050 meters above sea level. Once at the top, you arrive at the Loma Cruz, part of the Pichincha volcano. The view from there is amazing, you can take panoramic pictures of Quito and its surrounding mountains. This trip is one of the most popular attractions and one of the recommended things to do in Quito.

There are also some hiking trails to walk to the top of one of the peaks of the Pichincha volcano, the "Rucu Pichincha". Keep in mind, the height factor may cause symptoms of altitude sickness, bring with you warm clothing. TeleferiQo has restaurants and some shops where you can buy water, snacks, and coffee. You can take a bus to the TeleferiQo but you can also take a taxi between $ 5 and $ 10. The TeleferiQo is located 4 mi. (6.4 km) from old Quito. The opening hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day. The entrance is $4.50 local $8.50 foreigners.
