Mache-Chindul Ecological Reserve

Mache-Chindul Ecological Reserve is a natural area full of biodiversity hotspots. Due to the enormous variety of plants and wildlife. Located southwest of Esmeraldas. North of the Manabí, Ecuador. It has an area of 119,172 hectares (294,480 acres). The Mache-Chindul Ecological Reserve protects some tropical forests of the Ecuadorian coast. Also, within its borders, there is the "Laguna de Cube". Besides the tropical forest, it offers several attractions such as amazing waterfalls, and various swimming holes. It is a place of exotic landscapes, waterfalls and natural lagoons. Best time to visit the reserve Mache-Chindul is between July and December, during the dry season.

To get to the reserve Mache-Chindul from Quito. Take the route Quito-La Independencia-Quininde 141 mi. (227 km.) or the route Quito-Santo Domingo-Quininde 135 mi. (218 km). From Quininde, take the road to Esmeraldas 7 mi. (12 km). Pay attention and look for the Km 80. Continue until the "Y" (junction) of "La Laguna". From there, get to the "El Eden de Dagola" community 13 mi. (21 km).
