La Rotonda is a historical monument that is located on the Malecón 2000 in Guayaquil, Ecuador. The Malecón is a beautiful promenade. The monument of La Rotonda can be seen at the beginning of Boulevard 9 de Octubre. The Rotonda shows the image of two men shaking hands, this recalls the only interview between the liberators Simón Bolívar and San Martín, which took place on July 26, 1822, during the struggle of Ecuador for the independence of Spain.
