Jambelí is an island surrounded by mangroves. It is located South of Ecuador. Jambelí is the closest beach to Machala. To reach Jambelí, visitors take a boat from Puerto Bolívar (international port). The trip last half an hour and cost around $5. Many local people from Jambelí offer their houses for rental. The island also has many restaurants and rustic bars at the beach. Jambelí may be quite noisy during high season. If visiting, don't forget to bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
