Nueva Loja - Lago Agrio

Nueva Loja is a small town in the Amazon of Ecuador. Known as Lago Agrío. Nueva Loja is the capital of Sucumbíos Province. Tourists visit this city due to its proximity to the reserves Cuyabeno and Limoncocha. Lago Agrío is also a place to start a jungle tour. Things to do in this town include visiting the central park and the waking down the main street. As well as visiting the Nueva Loja Ecological Park. About the altitude, Lago Agrío has an elevation of ‎974 feet (297 meters) above sea level.

From Quito, it is a 40-minute flight. There are flights every day. Nueva Loja Airport is 1.8 mi (3 km.) East Lago Agrío Lake. By bus, it takes between 5 to 6 hours. There are buses in the route Quito-Lago Agrío or Baños-Lago Agrío. One of Lago Agrío's local holidays is the Provincialization of Sucumbíos on February 13.
