Tena is a peaceful town, capital of the Napo province, Ecuador. Tena is also known as "Cinnamon Capital" — "Capital de la Canela" in Spanish. "Canela" means "cinnamon" — Tena is located right where the rivers Tena and Napo converge. This town is the launching point for a jungle trek, rafting or kayaking tours.
Tena has a park in the center of town. In the park, there is a monument called Tena Kichwa y Ancestral. Climate is rainy year-round; heaviest rains come in April, May, and June.
Local holidays are the Provincialization of Napo on February 12 and Foundation of Tena on November 15.
