Visiting the Amazon rainforest from Quito

Nearest Amazon rainforest to Quito is the Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve, located in the Orellana province, in the north-east of Ecuador. Jungle towns and rainforests are found in the Amazon Basil. The town of Puyo, in the province of Pastaza, is a great destination for recreational outdoor activities as rafting and kayaking. Near Puyo, there is the town of "Banos", a recommended tourist destination to get in contact with nature and the ecosystem.

The Ecuadorian Amazon basin is easily accessible. It is considered an economic jungle area, in comparison with other Amazonian destinations in South America.
