Bartolomé Island is a volcanic islet located in the center of the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador. Bartolomé is one of the "youngest" islands formed in the archipelago. It is a depopulated place but it has steps that take you to the top of the island, from where you can observe the surroundings as well as the mangroves. Bartolomé Island is a great place to see penguins, sharks, herons, hawks, rays, and finches.
A popular place on this island is Pinnacle Rock, a rock formation similar to an obelisk on the top of the sea. In addition, Pinnacle Rock offers excellent opportunities to dive with penguins and sea lions. In fact, Pinnacle Rock is the most representative landmark of Bartolomé Island and the Galapagos Islands.
