Española Island or Hood Island is one of the oldest islands of the Galápagos islands. It is located in the southernmost part of the archipelago. Española is famous for its natural beauty and its endemic diversity. Indeed, a relaxing place, beaches with white sand, sea lions lying on the beach, and animals such as marine iguanas, nazca boobies, and blue-footed boobies walking around. There is no volcanic activity on this island. There are many one-day tours that visit the island.
Española Island has two main visitor areas: Punta Suarez, on the western side, has an amazing variety and quantity of wildlife. Gardner Bay, on the eastern side, offers one of the best beaches to visit. It is also a great place to practice snorkeling and scuba diving. In addition, Gardner Bay is the nesting place for green sea turtles.
