Santiago Island

Isla Santiago is an island of the Galápagos archipelago, Ecuador. Santiago is also known as San Salvador Island and is located northeast of Santa Cruz Island. Santiago Island has the largest and longest lava flow, which is found in Sullivan Bay, for this reason, the island is uninhabited and does not have much vegetation. Although, the island of Santiago has impressive rock formations and breathtaking landscapes.

Some points of interest on the island of Santiago are Sullivan Bay, James Bay, Puerto Egas, Espumilla Beach and the Sombrero Chino (Chinese Hat), ideal for snorkeling. On Santiago Island you can enjoy bird watching, you will also find colonies of sea lions, fur seals, marine iguanas, tortoises, and marine turtles. It is also a place to do scuba diving and enjoy the company of sea lions, dolphins and sharks.
