Floreana Island is a small island populated in the Galápagos archipelago. Floreana is known for its stories of pirates, colonists, buccaneers, and whalers. Approximately two-thirds of the residents of Floreana Island live in the city of "Puerto Velasco Ibarra", the remaining residents live in the volcanic highlands.
Some of the attractions of Floreana Island are The Post Office Bay (established in 1793). The Crown of the Devil (an eroded volcanic crater rich in marine fauna). Cormorant Point is another place to visit (a great place to see the flamingo lagoons). Other activities that can be done in Floreana are surfing, kayaking and diving. In addition to watching sea lions, pelicans, seagulls, herons and blue-footed boobies.
