Condor-Machay Waterfall

Condor-Machay is a waterfall located in the town of Rumipamba. This is 17 km. from Quito, Ecuador. Condor-Machay means "Nest of the Condor" in the Quichua language.  The hike to the Condor-Machay waterfall takes about 2 hours but is rewarding. The waterfall road has a few bridges over the Pita river, as well as lush vegetation, and different kind of plants and birds.

To get there from Quito, go to the terminal terrestre (bus station) and take a bus to Sangolqui/Selva Alegre $0.50 each way.  Once there, rent a taxi to the trailhead $15 one way. Make arrangements with the taxi driver to either wait for you or to pick you up.
