Cotacachi

Cotacachi is a small artisan town. Located in the Imbabura province, Ecuador. Cotacachi has amazing hot springs, lush forests, nature reserves, and snowy summits. Cotacachi's main production is leather goods. In the center of the town, there are dozens of shops with good quality leather products such as jackets, pants, belts, wallets, shoes, bags and more.

Among the main attractions of Cotacachi is the Cuicocha crater lake. Surely, the surroundings of the crater are a great place to go hiking or trekking. There are many international travelers, that fall in love with Cotacachi. In fact, they selected this town as a retirement place.

Cotacachi is an inexpensive place. there are many restaurants offering delicious lunch for $3 to $5. In addition, you can take a taxi for only $1.25 and go anywhere within the limits of the town. Although, taking a taxi to the Cuicocha reserve may cost you $10 one way.
